The new interface!
It crashes the browsers more often than even the previous "gallery update" did, and there is no way around the javascript in the "my" area.
And the bugs!!!!! Did they BOTHER to test it???
The load on the system must be 10x higher, since every click now communicates with the server, and if you click to delete a second deviation -- *BUT* the system decides to update, you delete the *wrong* one! It simply shoves a different deviation under your mouse ... and away it goes.
Does anyone elses "actions" disappear? It's a real chase to try to see who faved/watched now. The list simply disappears and sets itself to "0".
While the "date" view in the Deviations area seems to display all the deviations, when you switch to "artist" view, the list is *severly* truncated. Seems to only show the most recent day or two.
And, what's with the tiny 20-something page view in the devwatch? Where did the 100+ plus view go? I guess the javascript is so "heavy" it can't handle more than 20-something deviations, and even that destabilizes both MSIE and FireFox 3.
This is a *STATIC* site. It's a *GALLERY* site. The interface should be STATIC so it can be viewed on a wide variety of devices, computers, and operating systems. Flash doesn't substitute for class. The more flash, the less substance, and maybe that is the point.
The complaints about substance -- eg: quality of the deviations, and the rise of porn, anime, doodles, and snapshots, and such -- have risen, so maybe the new interface was to HIDE that fact. If people can't view the deviations, or the interface limits their browsing, then they don't see how much trash there is.
Did I say how much I hate the new interface? I've had a dozen crashes and bug reports to mozilla in the past week. 3 of them today. I've been forced back to MSIE, but I have to exit and reload it every 20-30 deviations. And with over 1000 in my devwatch by now, it's becoming painful.
