Journal Entry Begins Below:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just like it says, Muse wanted.
Ignore the start and length. This is an immediate -- as soon as the right person presents themselves -- and long term (preferably at least 6 months) opportunity.
Mostly figure/nude work, some alt/goth/bleeding-edge, some projects for print (magazines), and the rest for the print collector market, mostly not for on-line use. Also, an ongoing project of top-shelf artistic BDSM/erotic imagery, so a person interested in exploring the submissive side would be perfect.
Room/board/stipend in exchange for your availability. Also, willing to trade image sets in lieu of other compensation for your own use (for example your own pay site).
Email for more details, and with questions. I've tried to fill in the basics below.
The idea is to shoot as much as possible, whenever possible. Several collaborations are available, and there is opportunity to work with one or two other photographers on a regular basis for "themed" shoots and costumes, body paint, etc.
Over the past year, what I've spent on locations, no-shows, and what gets written off as wasted days, added up to a significant amount. It would be more beneficial to put that time/money into a working relationship that would show definite yield, and maximize the results (images/shoots/etc).
This is also why art communes work so well, and being in an environment where you can meet people who are also free that day/hour -- but most places don't have them. So, the live-in muse is the next best option for all those other areas. (Or, setting up your own artists commune... hmmm....)
This is a full-time creative opportunity. The goal is to maximize available shooting time, and work on projects that have been stacking up. It's a job. It's an experience. It's a commitment. It's a great opportunity for someone looking to be involved in a large number of artistic/photographic projects -- and take a LOT of pictures.
Specific look not important, but positive, can-do, always-ready attitude is. Prefer height/weight proportional, and no large or distracting tattoos. The goal is mostly "art" figure work, and that is about the figure, and lighting, and locations, not about props/decorations.
Room, board, small stipend, for being available to shoot when the time/opportunity presents itself. (A local person not needing room/board would need to be available weekends, and several days/nights a week - a student without a social life for example.)
Think live-in Nanny, without the kids, and a *lot* more perks, and with a lot of pictures being taken.
Cable/Satellite, high speed internet, own bedroom on separate floor (a small "efficiency" on the 3rd floor for the right person), (Must not be allergic to dogs/cats). It's not the ritz, but it's clean, dry, has central heat and window A/C, in a good/safe neighborhood in easy walking distance (or short bus ride) to most necessities (food, shopping, major bus routes to mall/downtown).
Additional: A creative person interested in scrapbooking, beading, needlework (cross stitch, needlepoint, etc), and other similar hobbies is preferred, as I have a large craft room/stock of things, and also run a wholesale bead shop that is open about 10 hours a week.
If the initial contact/discussion goes well, the right person will need to be interviewed by the two main photographers (male and female) and pass at least a working weekend test-shoot.
This is a serious opportunity, and requires more work than you might imagine. It's not for everyone; but for the right person, it's a dream job.
This was the ad from last summer, and has some other ideas on being a Muse:
