I have a folder "Critiques Welcomed" where the
critique feature has been enabled.

Journal Entry Begins Below:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've seen the new critique feature, but haven't explored it.

While comments on my images are always welcomed, most are not up here for critique, because I don't consider them a true representation of my work or vision. Most images are posted for the model's benefit.

I have set up a folder "Critiques Welcomed" in my gallery, where I've enabled critiques on a few images. They may not be the images you feel are worthy, or needing of, a critique, but they are images that to me seem to be ok with them.

If there is an image you feel I should enable critiques on, because *YOU* want to add one (not because you want to know what others feel about it), I'll consider it.

I might upload some images specifically for critique and discussion of art, technique, and such, now that that feature has been enabled, it may make sense to make use of it. I have a lot of new toys, and there is a dearth of information on the net on how to actually use them :) Lighting is a big issue for new photographers, and even old ones. Lighting for digital is not the same as lighting for film, and "response curves" and all that change from camera to camera, not from "film" to film.

Anyway, hopefully the critique system catches on, and some guidelines/templates/etc for performing good critiques are offered. Some people have a knack for critique, others need a little help to organize their thoughts :)
