This is a rant, directed at a few people, so if you don't want to be involved, don't read any further.  You've been warned.

Seems the issue is coming up again, for some odd reason.

If you watermark your images, I WILL NOT watch you, or continue to watch you.  

If I have been watching you, and I see you are now watermarking, I will notify WHY I stopped watching you when I Unwatch you.

Usually something simple like : "You've started watermarking.  I don't watch watermarks.  Unwatched."  

If you throw a hissy-fit over it, call me names, insult my heritage, or anything like that, and then block me, I should have probably unwatched you long ago.

If you unblock me, just to keep throwing a fit, then you aren't worth the time I spent watching you in the past. In fact, you are a simple waste of flesh, and anyone's time.   Especially mine.

So....

If you want to watermark -- censor -- you own images, and use all sorts of excuses like "My work's been Stolen" then you really shouldn't even be on the Internet, much less be posting images.  And you _certainly_ are not worth watching!  Some people will watch anyone for the purpose of gaining friends, or seeing a boob.  I won't.  

If you want to use excuses like "using watermarks .. is required by many of my photographers for me to even post the work" then you should *REALLY* be working with _DIFFERENT_ photographers!   There are plenty of _ARTISTS_ (Photographers and others) who post work without obscuring watermarks, and some don't even put anything on their images.  If these _GREAT_ artists don't feel the need to censor their work, why do *YOU* (who are most always not anywhere near their class, talent or vision) feel your work is so "precious" it has to be locked/censored?  If all you are getting from photographers is/are watermarked images, then you *REALLY* need to think about what you are worth as a person, and why you take that crap from people! Seriously.

But whatever your reasons, if you use the _DA_Watermark_ I will *NOT* watch you, and if you don't like it TOUGH SH!T!!   Eat Sh!t. And D!e.  Simple.   Save us all a lot of grief.

You can choose to watermark, and I can choose to not watch you.  Simple.  Get over it.

But, remember, if you "tag" me so I'll watch you (because you are in the area) then start watermarking your images, and throw a hissey-fit when I unwatch you -- YOU WILL NOT WORK WITH ME OR MY GROUPS EVER!  PERIOD!  You won't simply be "unwatched" you will be ignored on-line and in the real world.  This is *NOT* a popularity contest. It's about art, and professionalism.  Watermarks are *NOT* art, they are about commercialism, censorship, and BAD ATTITUDES.

So, to me -- and many other artists -- the issue of watermarks *IS* very, very very important, and not trivial, or "stupid".  

So, in short, my objection to watermarks, if they [watermarks] are something so "stupid", is less important than *YOUR* feelings about pretty much anything else?  How much more insulting, self-centered, and egotistical can *YOU* be?  Really, really, really, bad attitude.   And, why would I care what "things that are actually important" to you "as a person" since you just called what is the most important thing about my art/work "stupid" ???   It's all about you, isn't it?

Models, remember, a good attitude goes a long, long way with people.   And, a model is a _MODEL_.  They are not the captain of the ship.  When you start to dictate what is and isn't "art" for a person, you are no longer useful as a model.  Enjoy the button pushers and GWC's because that is all that will work with you as word gets around.   Artists want _MODELS_.   People willing to work on their visions, ideas, and goals for a project.  Ad directors, clients, marketing people all want models to bring THEIR IDEAS to print.   Calling them - and their ideas - _STUPID_ goes a long, long way to cutting your options.

FWIW:  I've been a photographer for over 4 decades.  I've been shooting models for over 35 years.  How many models can claim to be modeling for that long?   With luck, if my health holds out, I could probably go another 35 (statistically, based on my current age).  There are new models every day.   The economy sucks, and will suck for a long time.  Burning bridges is really what is _stupid_.
